We started out making just the Gasket for the Gearbox Cover that mounts to the front of the Auger Gearbox Housing on the John Deere 47” and 54” Snow Blowers.
John Deere never included a designated Gasket and would rather force you to remove the Factory Cover when it comes time to Drain and Change the Gear Oil.
We then decided to make a Gearbox Cover Plate to go with the Gasket and added an extra threaded hole at the bottom for draining the Gear Oil without going through the trouble of removing the Factory Cover and needing to scrape off the Permatex Gasket Material and apply more before replacing the Cover.
The John Deere OEM number is AUC13965 and goes for around $96.00. We are selling our upgrade for a little more with Free Shipping.
Our new version locates the bottom of the new Drain Hole just below the bottom of the Housing so complete draining of the Gear Oil is possible.
A Gasket is included with the Gearbox Cover Plate but you can purchase Just the Gasket if you don’t have a problem with needing to remove and replace your OEM Cover with each Gear Oil change.
We supply (2) 1/8" BSPP Steel External Drive Plugs and (6) M6x25mm SS Button Head Hex Drive Screws.
